They are just taking the pilot and splitting it up into a bunch of short webisodes. It's been in the can for a long time and they are just burning it off. Sadly there are no plans to go forward with it as a series.

Yeah. While its hard to tell from only two shorts, I did like the overall vibe of what I saw, much more so than the Craprica prequel series. Sort of brought me back to the early seasons of nBSG. It does inevitably suffer the dilemma of all prequels in that the long term fate of key characters is a known quantity. But it would have been worth seeing what they could do.
