Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
The Walking Dead - Season 4
A few quibbles:
- I thought that last line of Rick's fell flat. It was overly corny and censored.
- For me, they held back too much on showing just what's going on at Terminus. Maybe the entire episode should have been dedicated to reaching Terminus and Rick's brutality could have been worked into the same episode that Darryl joined that group. It just seemed like the climax became completely overshadowed by what came before.
- The army dude with the bad dye job, the scientist dude, and the hot chick who's never dirty worked a lot better in the comic than in the show. It's jarring to see these cartoonish characters when they've strived so hard to portray everyone else on the show as a believable person.

Small bands of rape gangs like the crew Darryl was in sounds more realistic. In a place where you have a larger population of "settlers" I would imagine a lot of paranoia and discontentment. I don't think a small society like this would survive long before it consumes itself. Hopefully the writers will approach this thoughtfully and make sure it is fleshed out.

Yes! They are quite cool and believable characters in the comic books, but man did they suck in the first episode they were in. However, I think they all showed some hints of personality later on, so I'm hoping.
But, seriously, I can accept zombies and all that, but I cannot suspend my disbelief when it comes to ear hoops and shorts. Even long hair should be a no go for any sensible person in that world, but hoops and shorts is just insane.

Yet in spite of the introduction of all these cartoonish elements, the show seems to still want us to take it with grim, po-faced seriousness.
Worst of all, sometimes it's become really quite boring.
Hoping that the introduction of the man who know how to save the world indicates they're preparing to wind things up in season 5. Not sure I can extend interest beyond that point.

Heh, I forgot all about that candle room. Think they are people candles? Anyway, nobody wants to light 300 candles!

The encounter with the Hunters was pretty good. Still not entirely sure how Rick didn't get his head blown off, but the fight afterwards where they beat five armed guys to death was cool. Liked Ricks' walker attack move where he bit out the guys neck. Even better when he went after the guy who was raping Carl. Considering what just a few of his group did to these dudes I can see why he's not worried about the cannibals. They really did screw with the wrong people.
Loved when Rick told Darryl he was his brother.
Rick should have split the group and gone in with just him and Darryl. Leaving Michonne and Carl as backup in case they didn't hear from them after a few hours.
I'm wondering if Carol and Tyreese were close enough to hear all the gunshots. If so, I expect next season to start with Carol walking right in like the Terminator blasting everyone away.
No sign of Beth during the current parts of episode. She looked really cute in the sheriff's hat in the flashbacks though. Was nice to see Hershel for one last time.
Matt, this is the highest rated show on US television. No way they are even thinking about a final season right now. They're still doing a spinoff last I heard.

Mad Dog wrote: I think Terminus has a good thing going and can see the appeal in that world. Once that meat hits the grill I doubt anyone thinks about where it came from any more than they do today.
I dunno, I couldn't eat you, Mad Dog. Besides, it's hard to find a good game group in the apocalypse.
Seriously though, no way in hell am I going to commit murder to eat. You bet I'm going to worry about where it came from because it's someone's brother, father, wife not some non-sentient animal. Or maybe it's a potential ally who has better survival ideas than I do which don't involve eating our community. Or just someone to talk to or a lover. Survival is going to depend on others or else it's not going to be worth living anyway. If the chips are down and I'm going to die of starvation then it's time welcome death.
