There is something so much more compelling about original artwork. It makes you wonder if things were better off years ago, when individual artists may or may not have had any idea what others were doing at the time. Room to be completely, unselfconciously, creative. No reference to others. Smaller world now.

Funny, Komrade, I was thinking this exact same thing. "Space Cowboy American" is what it screams to me.

Simply not having a lot of dissembodied heads makes these posters much better than anything we can see now in theaters.

That space cowboy poster is fucking amazing. I want one. Too bad it's 3500 bucks on Amazon.

My favorite of all time is the Polish poster for Weekend at Bernies:





I'm guessing in Soviet Poland the artist did not get to see this fine piece of film making.
