I thought I heard this was going to be an anime or some nonsense.

I'd prefer bringing back Gibson. I think the more batshit crazy he gets, the better an aged Max Rockatansky he'd be.

I suspect that without Gibson this will just feel like one of many Mad Max clones we've all seen. Maybe they could at least get Bruce Spence to play some random dude who flies a hot air balloon around or something.

Without Gibson...I don't know. Financially, it's not smart to have Gibson in a movie right now. Yet I still crave more Mad Max. I just re-watched all 3 last week, and I'm left wanting more. The same director/writer is behind this one, so I don't know, might be pretty good.

Tom Hardy is rumored to be playing Mad Max Rockatansky. Did you see Inception and Bronson? I'm just fine with it. Gibson is rumored to have a cameo.

Oh my god that is so freaking weird. In my mind, I imagine you as BOB from the BLACK HOLE, Barney.

The new MAD MAX movie will never happen. It's been floundering around in pre-production for over a decade at this point. I remember reading news about it in the 1990s "George Miller puts out casting call for local punks" and whatnot. For a while, it was being talked about as an "anime" movie (I guess by people who don't really know what anime is), and a video game for a while. If _anything_ happens, it'll probably be a game. The post-apoc zeitgeist kind of came and went over the past year, which would have been prime time for it happen. When a movie flops around for so long like this, it usually means there's signficant problems either with the script, financing, involved principles, or other issues that are keeping it from going anywhere.

George Miller would do better to revisit his BABE franchise, that would have more likelihood of a resurgence.

Tom Hardy is the fucking man. BRONSON is a terrific picture, his performance in that is aim-for-the-fences great. He was good in INCEPTION too, even if it was more of support role. That guy could do big things in the right projects.

Ideally, these two projects should be combined.

I used to be I Cylon from the Olmos-Era. Now I'm a shill for Max Schell. I thought Fury Road was in preproduction in Australia.

Well, it looks like they're getting ready to roll. There's some official word on the casting. Tom Hardy IS playing Max, Charlize Theron will be the female lead...there's a few more. 2012 by the sounds of it.

Without Mel they should have made this a reboot instead.

Seriously I have never gone from 0 to 100 for a film after seeing a trailer like this. I had always viewed this as another Indy 4 and an attempt to milk money from an old franchise, but wow they got what worked in the second film. Minimal CG, crazy physical stunts.

Last time I was this obsessed with a trailer was with The Two Towers, because both hit me to the core and brought out all the emotion of something I am really attached to.

That is the trailer for the best action movie ever made.

Speechless. They have totally, it seems, nailed some of the really specific but subtle visual elements of the original films. Watch the way that camera moves. The costumes are DEAD on. That girl with the spyglass...perfect.

The only thing I'm worried about right now is that robot hand....if it's just some kind of crude prosthetic cobbled together, that's fine. If it's like articulated and all, that's too high tech.

Damn 2015 release dates...Star Wars, Age of Ultron, Fury Road...
