It was pretty good. I'm trying to place it in my canonical list of long arc series. I think The Shield was a little better at taking us somewhere. There were moments of dialogue and scenes that were so good. I enjoyed it every time Don got chewed out by an underling, like when Peggy called him out for pretending to spontaneously come up with an idea when he had labored over it for hours. Or when Don lectures the teen grifter. The writers must have really hated January Jones. Harry (is he on BGG?) turned into a real cretin. It was just nice to have some real dialogue and characters that evolved over time.
The first season was enough for me. They did a great job of conveying the zeitgeist, but I didn't find the characters compelling enough to continue watching their antics.

Still haven't seen season 7 (.1 and .2), but I've been a great fan so far. These people are all so damaged each in their own way, it's painful to watch. I want only good things to happen to Ken Cosgrove.
Harry Cran, aka Rich Sommer is on BGG as richarddolen2.

Replace "season" with "episode", and that's me.
I watched the first episode several years ago and thought it was a little too over the top. The rest of the show had some sweet, poignant moments and was less pilot-ish.
Harry was always a cretin. If there was one thing that was consistent during the entire series it was that you could count on Harry to keep it real by keeping it uncomfortable.
