Hateful Eight for Xmas

Looking forward to getting my western on this holiday season with Mr. Tarantino. Kurt Russell seems to have a large role in the film. Will this be the golden return for our hero of yesteryear? Or another Death Proof? Shades of Reservoir Dogs? Can't wait to find out.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about this. I love Tarantino despite some missteps.

I liked Death Proof. Sure, it was Tarantino's chick flick, but it also had an outstanding car chase scene, great music, and good acting. Most of Tarantino's flims have been enjoyable. However, I disliked Inglorious Basterds and hated Django Unchained, and those are the last two movies that Tarantino directed.

So while I'm always interested in seeing a Tarantino movie, I am not necessarily expecting to enjoy Hateful Eight. There will be action, and snappy dialogue, and some good music that won't match the setting (a problem for all Tarantino movies set in a time before he was born). But if Hateful Eight follows in the footsteps of Django Unchained, I'm not going to like it.

Huh, I thought Django was pure awesome. Basterds wobbled a slight bit but you could take two scenes from that movie alone and they're better than 900 movies released since then. I'm not entirely sure what was wrong with Death Proof but something was off. We're just going to have to disagree =D

Django is his best film...I'm definitely on board to see him do another western, and this one looks good. Russell was really good in Bone Tomahawk.

I also watched part of Overboard the other day. When hardasses do romantic comedies...we all loose.

Django was slightly behind Pulp Fiction, to me, but still one of his best.

I don't know how I didn't know about Bone Tomahawk until this week. Weird.

Heh, I remember Russell from back in the Disney days. I think he ate some cereal that made him strong or something. I remember liking that one. Not a romantic comedy but you know what I'm sayin'.
