I just finished watching the first two episodes of the second season of Star Wars Rebels and I am completely blown away.

It was so good. Better by far than The Force Awakens. Yah, I just said that and I mean it. It was exciting and original. Darth Vader was so damn bad ass and I love how he was just cold and ruthless and unstoppable. There is one visual where he lifts two destroyed Walkers off the ground while the background is a hellish blaze. That visual deserves an award.

I liked the first season of the show. t was fun. However it's been taken to the next level here. If you like The Star Wars and you haven't watched this show, you are doing yourself a great injustice. It's fantastic.

Yes, but it's a cartoon.

Special effects are not really that impressive when IT'S A CARTOON.

Andrew, did I say anything about special effects? No, and why is that? Because special effects are distinct from the story.

Now, I know you are aware of this and are seeking to provoke a reaction. So, in order to appease you, I will provide it.

Dick!

Eh, he's wrong anyway. Both nail the magic of classic SW, but Rey might single handedly be the best thing about any SW ever. Rebels is very, very good, season 2 is even better than the first, but TFA's new characters (the whole point of SW or any space opera for that matter) are across the board excellent and excel the film beyond its more than familiar plot.

FINGERS OF TRUTH STRIKE AGAIN.

Joshua, go have your morning coffee and come back when your perspective isn't utterly askew.

I would put the character of Ahsoka Tano up against Rey any day of the week. More interesting. More room for growth. More legit in every way.

It's a cartoon and, as everyone knows, that is not a proper film.

Jesus, we'll be talking about the artistic merits of Tom and Jerry soon or fucking anime.

Ahsoka Tano, a product of THE PREQUEL ERA is more legit than Rey (spoilers, she's not) yet Jedi celibacy is to be dismissed? The hypocrisy is getting dangerously close to Fox News levels.

Oh Joshua, such a noble effort to join the adults at the grown up table and yet not quite making it.

Ahsoka is not from the prequels. She is from the Clone Wars which as we can all agree is better than the prequels in every way. So purely from a character/story perspective, she's totally legit. She totally kicks ass and isn't a "Mary Sue" like your precious Rey is.

I think it's clear that your child-like "nuh-uh" response is based entirely on the fact that Rebels doesn't have Chewbacca in it.

PS: Tom and Jerry is better than the prequels as well.

Remember when we all said that part of what made the prequels suck was that they tried to explain things we didn't need explained? See exhibit A, The Clone Wars.

And let me end the argument with Andy for you with three words you should dropped 4 posts ago: THE IRON GIANT.

Goddamn, does it feel good to ways be right.

Also a cartoon and therefore does not count as a proper film. See Foghorn Leghorn etc

Really? You're defending the hoary trope of non live-acted media being inherently not serious?

Andy's just trolling, Gary. Pay him no mind. Josh is just wrong, so you can ignore him as well.

Star Wars Rebels is adding great concepts to the canon, and introducing great characters. Chopper is the best droid to date, and the characters are well designed and have some solid depth to them. The stories are excellent by the way.

"Special effects" are for the kids. Mine like them in Star Wars Rebels.
