DeadPool was created by stoic
Last night, I caught an invite to a preview/early screening of DeadPool. I've really been looking forward to this movie. It was irreverent, witty, caustic, hilarious, funny, gritty, dirty, and awesome. It was everything that I imagined the DeadPool character to be from the comic series, but expressed in a way that I hadn't thought they could actually capture on film--they did it though, trademark monologues and all! It wasn't the mass of predictable generic tropes, cliches, and mainstream super hero tripe that was Avengers: Age of Ultron. I recommend it. It isn't for children, however, and earns that "R" rating. I'll see DeadPool again when it has its general release on February 12. DeadPool is what I had hoped would have been done in the two previous film versions for the Punisher, but somehow wasn't.

I've been collecting and reading Deadpool for a little over two years now. I am so excited. Me and the movie crew are going on Friday, but since I saw it has Thursday showtimes, I may also go after work Thursday.

I would have left out that sentence.

Man, this movie looks bad.

I know what you mean, but I think you're flat out wrong. The movie looks like it stays true to the spirit and aesthetic of the comics.

Personally I have never liked Deadpool, I don't like his humour, I don't like his character arcs, I don't like... well anything about him at all really. But this film, for better or worse, looks like it does all of those same things and was made with love for the original world and it seems like they tried really hard to do this character justice.

For me that ends up being a movie I don't care about at all, but if I'm honest I'd have to admit that it does look like they totally nailed it.

However Ryan Reynolds could turn people off of this, I don't mind him personally and I am probably the only man in the world that thought the Green Lantern movie he was in was well done. I liked it so much I watched it 3 or 4 times. But I get that some people just don't like Ryan Reynolds. There's not much you can do about that.

Nightmare.

It took me a long while to get the kids out of their addiction to watching "Gangnam Style" on youtube, and the follow on videos often led on to some guy dressed as deadpool doing the song out in the streets.

Deadpool is a love 'em or hate 'em character. I hate him, but I'm glad that people who like him are getting a movie.
