omg, what do you think of that music at the very end? Totally trying for an electro-sounding Vangelis, no? That gave me chills.


...movie still looks kind of sleepy. The shots outside in the orange made me wish I was watching Fury Road again.

Calling it now: Ryan Gosling is a replicant.

Blade Runner is my favorite movie. I can recite pretty much the entire screenplay AND the audio track AND human beatbox the entire soundtrack. So this has a TREMENDOUS potential to fail. Trailer looks interesting, but I want to see more. I am kind of pissed that they somehow must have found a fan script I tried to start writing sometime in the early 1990s because it looks EXACTLY like my core concept.

You're absolutely right. But I think there are about a million cool stories you could tell in that world. Hopefully this is one of them.

"Deckard is a replicant" is the dumbest fucking thing. Misses every single point about the story.

Sometimes kids have the most appropriate reactions and it is beautiful. I was watching the trailer this morning and my 10 year old daughter started watching over my shoulder, so I was explaining to her how the original was one of my favourite movies. So she asked what it is about, and I explained how it is about a company builds human like robots and they are banned from Earth and Blade Runner's have to hunt down and kill and any trespassing robots. But, she asked, if they look just like humans, how do the Blade Runners work out who is human and who is a robot? So I explained about the Voight-Kampf test and how it is used to test whether someone has an appropriate emotional reaction to something. Now she is worried that she will fail a Voight-Kampf test by mistake.

All of the weirdness of the book has been stripped away. Also, Deckard is wearing a t-shirt, for SuperflyPete's sake.
