I feel kind of dirty doing this (I wanted to put this in the What Comics Are You Reading thread instead of starting a new one, but couldn't find it), but damn, it's too good a deal: a whole ton of Eisner Spirit Archives (the ones you want unless you're really completist are vols. 12-22, and there's zero continuity so don't feel weird about jumping in with volume 17 or whatever), Sugar & Spike archives (seriously! If you have young kids, PLEASE buy this), and even the Watchmen hardcover, all at 65% off:
InStockTrades DC sale

There's plenty of other good stuff, too, like some Silver Age Superman stuff and Morrison's JLA: Earth 2, and if you're okay with your superhero comics being in B&W (I'm not, mostly), all those cheap Showcases. Anyway, if this is too spam-y, just let it drop out of sight.

Thanks for that.

Ordered Absolute Sandman Vol 3/4 for $50 each shipped to my hotel. Saves me a massive amount on overseas shipping and 40% off retail price.

There's some really good showcase deals in there if you're cool with the showcase series.

Lemme give a little further detail on which Spirit Archives to buy:

Volumes 1-3 and volumes 12-22 are all pencilled and mostly scripted by Eisner, with the caveat that he had art assistants all throughout, and especially in the later volumes Jules Feiffer wrote more and more scripts, including several of the classics (15 Minutes and the machine-gun-storybook one, for example). In the middle of volume 4, Eisner went to war. Eisner had little to nothing to do with any story in volumes 5-10 of the Archives; they are mainly written by folks like William Woolfolk and drawn by slouches like Jack Cole and Lou Fine...but also plenty of ACTUAL slouches, too. Eisner returned to the Spirit at the tail-end of volume 11; I think that has 2-3 stories written & drawn by Eisner. The first couple stories in volume 23 have Eisner pencils, but after that he completely relinquished the strip to others. Finally, in volume 24, with the Outer Space Spirit, he gave loose plots to Feiffer and essentially assisted Wally Wood on the art. Volume 24 ends the original run of the Spirit; there is also a volume 25 containing the later Spirit dailies, a volume 26 containing later Eisner Spirit miscellania, and a volume 27 containing the short-lived homage series "The Spirit: The New Adventures", with Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, Eddie Campbell, Neil Gaiman, etc. contributing.

There are a couple handfuls of pre-war Spirit stories from vols. 1-4 that are genuinely great, but the majority of what the Spirit is known for came after Eisner came back from the war, newly inspired to do more than just the same-old same-old. The first couple post-war volumes lean more light-hearted, the next couple lean more noir-influenced.

I'm almost finished with a complete read-through of all the Eisner Spirit sections, one each morning and one each evening. A four volume best-of would probably be the ideal way to read it, honestly, as he does repetitively lean on the same story tropes over and over again in a way that seems not auteur-y but lazy, but the baseline filler-type strips are still fun even if you know how they're going to end up, largely due to the drawing and storytelling craft. He draws the best fistfights I've ever seen.
