Your opinion doesn't count here because you banned yourself and are now back to using the site.Mr Skeletor wrote: I didn't think the supposed 'baiters' comment was bad at all.
And your opinion doesn't count anywhere because you are a dumbassed commie whos balls have yet to drop.

I keep going back as there is a lot of important trolling to do in RSP, and someone needs to do it.

Y'all keep using that word ("passive-aggressive"); I don't think it means what you think it means. For example, it definitely hasn't got anything to do with someone making fun of something you said, in a lighthearted manner, to which you couldn't think of a witty riposte. On the other hand, "sulking" and "victimization response" are classical symptoms of passive-aggressive behaviour.
In other words: quit bitching about moderation on BGG. If you feel oppressed by not being allowed to say "fuck you, you fucking fuck" (or something equally snappy) in every possible social situation, then it's your fucking problem, not everyone else's. Moderation on BGG is there to make sure its forums don't become another YouTube comment section (which is basically nothing more than a collection of variations on "LOL YOUR DUMB"). When you are on BGG, you don't "need to talk to people as if they are your boss's adored, but slightly demented grandmother, with your boss standing right there with his arm around her". Instead, you are expected to talk as if you were at a party, where there are people other than your closest friends, not to mention their children. This is how almost every fucking commercial webforum works, because otherwise they would lose a significant amount of potential visitors. Deal with it.
Also, for the record, there is nothing inherently superior or brave in always saying what you mean as directly as possible, especially when all you mean is "fuck you", as opposed to saying it without using swear words. If anything, the former is just the easiest and laziest way. I'm surprised that anyone would think otherwise.

I half agree with this - many of the current examples people post here of "passive agressive" behavior arn't that at all, but rather someone being a sly smart arse. If you get btthurt by that tough shit.
That being said there is a fair bit of P-A on BGG, Drew was the master of it who pulled the victim card the minute I came close to clipping him over the ear in order to try and get me a ban. Nate was great at it too. DDJ was possibly the king, except I expect the guy is half a nut and doesn't realise how he posts his bullshit.

No, you are expected to talk like you were at an american party. If the social norms in Australia were that fucking anal no one would ever go to a party.

NOT OK AT BGG:
USERNAME, you Polish fuck, you're retarded.
OK AT BGG:
USERNAME, I can understand where you're coming from. That being said, I FEEL that you're a little bit outmatched in this conversation. Perhaps it's the fact that you're Polish. And I don't mean that it's because you're from Poland, implying that all Polish are stupid or something, I mean that it's perhaps a language thing.
That's what the problem is. If you call someone a cockwad, you're immediately banned. If you imply that you feel they're being a cockwad, and then back it up with more insult, but not DIRECT insult, you're cool. That's weird.
And for the record, THIS is passive-aggressive:
Passive–aggressive behavior is dealing with expectations in interpersonal or occupational situations in an obstructionist or hostile manner that indicates aggression, or, in more general terms, expressing aggression in non-assertive (i.e. passive or indirect) ways.
Which is EXACTLY what Stormy was talking about. He was being insulted without DIRECTLY being insulted.

If you really think the only way people get banned is by being so unoriginal as to say nothing but "fuck you fucking fuck" then you don't get it and you must suck at using swears.
There are several ways to be creative and aggresive and rude and get booted off the site. Avoiding saying fuck you or whatever you think is cliche does not make you better in anyway whatsoever. Mostly, for me, it's been sticking up for noobs and taking one for the team so to speak. Fuck your party idea anyway. Almost every party I go to I have to wonder afterwards if I said the wrong thing, parties, like web pages, suck like that and those stupid rules they come up with to hold me in check are made to be broken. So I break them and suffer the consequences happily.
In fact, your youtube example is preposterous too because there is no way the BGG crowd can be compared to them. They do not have to worry about that place becoming like youtube. Besides, I've had several good conversations on youtube under the right videos, with the right people. No better or worse then BGG. All BGG's modding has made it exactly as hard to find a good conversation given the number of poeple on the site. NO difference at all. Except, on youtube I'm free to say whatever I like without worrying about anyone getting offended. They still do, but I don't have to worry about it.
There is nothing cool about getting banned. No one said there was (you could argue they implied it but it would be a weak arguement). There is also nothing cool about getting the boot from a casino, or not getting the boot. The idea of getting booted from somewhere isn't inherhently anything. The context and the reasons may change all that, that's what decides if it's cool or fair or whatever fucking label you like.
