It's pretty funny.

You're not kidding. He's always been funny, but he's outdone himself here.

This guy created a pretend interview of me that put words in my mouth in an attempt to be funny. There wasn't anything particularly incendiary or offensive (wasn't particularly funny either) but I wasn't very pleased with it in spite of that. It's uncomfortable to hear words coming out of your mouth that aren't yours and aren't something you would say.

Stuff like this uses someone else's reputation as its vehicle. I let it slide because it was so bland, but someday someone is going to take more offense.

It may be a cultural thing. I'd be interested to hear Schweig's opinion on it as a fellow German. I'd also be interested to hear the opinions of a Georgian and two Texans as to whether they think he's stepped over the line a bit too much for their comfort.

I'm not a Texan, a Georgian or a German but I'd take it as a compliment. He's not putting words into people's mouths so much as he's parodying them. It's comedy. You may not find him funny, but he obviously considers you "important" enough to mention.

You think you got a bone to pick? Just be thankful you're not high steppin' like Barnes. LOL.

It was mildly amusing. I didn't laugh, but I did smile at a couple of parts. Seems like the guy who posted it is at least AT-friendly.

I suppose I'd enjoyed it more if I'd liked musicals. But it is good.

More surprised that 5 years on, somebody goes to that kind of effort to commemorate a banning. It's now a landmark in bgg history.

Best thing of course is that five years on, bgg talks about Barnes/FAT more than FAT talks about bgg. FAT's come a long way too

Well, that didn't move the needle for me very much. I think a lot of the praise being heaped on that is more of a "good effort" kind of thing. He clearly worked hard to put all that together, so good for him. But yeah, didn't find it very funny.

On a minor sidetrack, does anyone else find "games" humor to be kind of...not...humorous? It's like it's a hobby of mild chuckles. That's where this one falls for me.

I despise gamer humor. Of course, I also think that comedy is for the weak and cowardly.

Anyway, I thought it was harmless and fun. Some of it I laughed at, and I like West Side Story so the jokes worked for me. Some of it was really pretty smart, like the whole business with Maria.

It's harmless, the guy is totally a good sport and was just having some fun.

The only thing I objected to was my actual photograph used on one of the images. I'm not too big on having my picture out there, which is why I've used the same headshot for like six years now.

When I first saw your picture on Gameshark, it was one of the more surreal dissonances between reality and what was in my head. So you have that going for you.

I do like the idea of Mark E. Smith dancing in West Side Story.

I contacted him and he's an American. He made it a point to indicate that he presents himself as the idiot and others as the voice of reason. He didn't really offend me with what he wrote, it just felt like he was brushing up a little too close to me.

This is the kind of thing that celebrities deal with all the time, managing their outward persona because it's a financial asset to them. I'm unaccustomed to it and it feels a little strange, but all in all it didn't make much of a difference.

I agree that it appears he spent a LOT of time producing a B- result.
