I can't find the original thread that Jeb posted about this thing, damnit. Anyway, the seriously pimp salt shotgun to which Jeb pointed us a while back on a non-Kickstarter crowd-funding site has landed.
And, yes, it's precisely as pimp as we thought it might be. Now just to figure out how to avoid shooting the cats in the face with a load of table salt when going after invasive flying insects...

Damn; thought we broke the bug-a-salt out in a separate thread. Well, this thing is cool as all get-out and *extremely* heavy duty.

What cracks me up is that it was a $15k ask, with a >$550k buy! They hit on something deep within us all: the urge to kill flies with pump-action saltguns.

Hell, I bought a case of 6 as I've got 3 or 4 good friends at work (including 1 woman who falls dangerously close to the "Doomsday Prepper" category) who will fall all over themselves for one of these. My key "office relationship" xmas shopping done in one fell swoop. The last 2 are for me and my pops. This is an extremely well done novelty-ish item and, if the chamber holds up, will turn out to be a *great* deal for under $200 (for the full case-o'-six).
I'm looking forward to seeing if it will be effective against my current nemesis, the Brown Marmorated Stink-bug. I kind of doubt it since the little fuckers are up-armored; but if I can wing 'em, Gato Negro and Gato Viejo will pounce in for the kill.
