Lordy, that's a primo cut right there. It also sounds remarkably like an outtake from the prop review teleconference I suffered through for 9 hours today. I still say that the only way that this sort of behavior can *only* be cured with a swift, firm kick in the 'nads.

Like, I'm watching TV and some advertisment pops up: "Oh, you haven't heard about this product?" "Let me talk about this product" "Wow, this product is really good" "Product, product" "Now I feel more glamurous and more intelligent for buying product" and I explode. The idea that someone is going through all the hoops of writing, spending thousands on cameras, actors and putting it on TV just to say something to moronic blows my mind. And I notice. I notice every cliché, every overused turn of phrase, every horrible moral they are pushing and they enrage me like fuck.
This is also why I hate poor reviews so much and can't shut up during movies.

I've only known one guy that uses "power phrases" aside from the ubiquitous "bandwidth" one. And the guy is a cunt.

I'm impressed that somebody was able to mention Pathfinder without the obligatory D&D 3.75 description. They might as well have named the game Pathfinder: D&D 3.75 and just gotten it over with.

Boardgame preachers. The new person doesn't need to hear about which games they should be trying first or how bad Monopoly is. They just want to play the game that's in front of them. Work on making it a fun experience to play a game instead of a boring lecture on the history of the SdJ. Seriously most people, in my experience, aren't going to sign up for BGG and join the cult of the new just because they like playing boardgames.
