Wow. That's a special one, right there.... You said he hasn't finished his PhD--so he hasn't defended his diss yet? The academic community ain't that big. One or 2 phone calls and he'll be revising until he's collecting Social Security.

This was not a great job interview strategy, word definitely gets around.

Eventually guys like that get punched hard in the mouth. The only sad thing is that you can't be there to witness it.

I don't know where 'these parts' are, but in the US Ash Wednesday was on the 13th with Pete making these comments on Tuesday the 12th.

Maybe I'm reading these post dates wrong though...

Oh well, I am about 8 hours ahead.

We had a person interviewing for Assistant Professor who undid his pants to re-tuck in his shirt in a tenure, female professors office.

He didn't get the job.

I have people call me "asshole" at work quite a bit. I'm used to it. Although it still hurts my feeling.
