Craniac, my philosophy only extends to realms where no other person is harmed by your pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. I assumed that was understood, but I guess my estimation of the intelligence of the F:AT community was inaccurate.

I can write the word "nigger" because I only use it to talk about the word itself. I'm not directing it towards anyone as an insult or to describe somebody. I mean when you write "n-word" or "Ni**er", we know exactly what word you are talking about. So in a discussion about the word itself, I don't understand why it should be censored. Unless of course this is so much of a taboo in the USA that one can't even mention it.

After Django Unchained, there was an interview with Samuel L. Jackson, where he gleefully tortured the interviewer, repeatedly challenging him to say "nigger" instead of "the N-word". It's kind of funny, but also sad at the same time, because you know perfectly well why the interviewer refused to do so: although in context saying the word can be perfectly innocent, it's awfully easy to take it out of context. Had he said it, in a couple of minutes there would have been millions of copies on YouTube of him saying "nigger", without all the other stuff before and after that, and from that on he would forever have been "the white guy who said 'nigger' on television". It's much easier to be careful and (to those in the know) look like an unnecessarily PC idiot, than to deal with the consequences of being perceived as a racist by millions of uninformed people.
