Hey Fort!
Long time no see!
I just realized that I haven't played a boardgame in many months, and without that practical experience keeping my head in gaming I've drifted far from the hobby. I am in the middle of reading Andrew Roberts's biography of Napoleon ("Napoleon the Great", Penguin-- good stuff!) and I'm ashamed to say that the echo of the awesome time I've had playing Napoleon's Triumph -- or, for that matter, anything having to do with power struggles, bloodshed, politics and so on -- is really faint in my brain.
Last time I looked into my game closet, it was to retrieve some knapsack or something I had in there. I barely glanced at the shelves.
Anyway, just me poking my head back here to say 'hi' has reminded me about how much gaming fun is out there waiting to be rediscovered. One step at a time.
xo

Hey man, I just hope that everyone who has left have gone on to be happier and healthier by not talking about games every day. I took a soft break from game stuff for awhile too... go with what works. I just saw on twitter that legomancer is bored of this site because of so much minis talk---more power to him, to me.
Good to hear from you.

I feared recent abundance of minis talk might lose some, but I'd encourage others to speak up if they have topics and games they want to talk about.

Nice to hear you're doing well. I'm in a similar boat, I still play but outside of gaming with my kid it's maybe a game a month or something. With a baby and a five year starting school I barely have time for anything. I haven't even seen any movies or shows.
Although I have played Fireball Island three times this week.
I kind of feel like I have enough great games to last a lifetime and I'm done with the collecting or playing new games part... as a hobby.
But for some reason I still read the odd thread here. I guess it's the people.
