Is BGG slowing down?

I posted on BGG this afternoon and it's still on the front page now. I'm starting to suspect that the rate people are posting there is slowing down. Anyone else thinking the same thing?

Stuff used to roll off in about 45 minutes.

You still post there? Man, I only look over there when I'm selling or trading anything. I really have no interest about anything happening there anymore. I think the BGG impact has lessened over the past couple of years, folks get more engagement through the Kickstarters and video bloggers I think. (shakes cane)

Between the subreddit and youtube, I wouldn't be surprised to see BGG slowing down. It doesn't help that the design is still stuck in 1999.

I also think BGG struggles to compete with the nerd hobby mainstream (vs. kickstarters, and vloggers) which has picked up and is now covering boardgames. Besides the database, it doesn't offer much...

The database is a huge asset and so the site will stay relevant because of that. The community? That may recede.

I haven't posted at imdb in about 15 years but I still use it almost daily.

I was posting in Multi-Man's forum to find out about Winter Offensive.

I'm still on there socially. Frankly I think it's better than it was five years back. But the conversation is very fractured now.

I still visit BGG regularly to talk about general gaming issues and some specific games.

It's perhaps wishful thinking on my part, but it seems like a lot of the people there are getting tired of the board game glut. I see a lot more threads about people slowing down with purchases and kickstarters.

I still post to BGG's forums daily. While there's a lot of chaff, there are still many users there I have a great deal of respect for and enjoy interacting with.

I dunno if it's slowing down. Could be summer vacation time has diverted some people's attention temporarily, coupled with some major conventions either just ending ( Origins ) or just about to begin ( WBC, Gencon ) .
