St. Skeletors Day was created by Shellhead
There is still time for everybody to prepare for this important holiday, St. Skeletor's Day:

www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21717368144

St Skeletor’s Day is a non-commercial alternative to the corporate whorefest that is St Valentine’s Day. Each year, on February 15th, the festival of St. Skeletor occurs worldwide. The purposes are:-

* a) The destruction of ‘lurrve’
* 2) The destruction of saucy greetings cards
* d) The destruction of people with boyfriends/girlfriends

St Valentine of course is the patron saint of making single people feel like crap — each year, the celebration drifts further away from the celebration of love, and further towards the celebration of fluffy handcuffs, expensive flowers, thoughtless greetings cards and other tat shaped into heart shaped packaging, putting pressure on people in relationships to partake of their hard earned cash and actually buy this crap.

Worse still, many companies now send Valentine’s cards to their customers, further polluting the concept of love.

I'm gonna bang on Valentines day. But I bang everyday so it's only a coincidence. Valentines day is for suckers.

Can someone post Frank's infamous animated avatar in order to disprove *a)?

My ISP just emailed:-

Subject: Spread the love - give your friends £20 off BE Broadband.

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, we want our members to spread the BE Broadband love.
Just use our Twitter application to tell your followers why you use BE.* Every follower that starts using the application and joins BE will get £20 credit, and will be added to your BE entourage. (If you don't tweet, don't worry, you can still spread the love via email.)
The top 10 with the largest BE entourage will be rewarded with a year's free LOVEFiLM.** You'll need to be speedier than Cupid's arrow though as every follower can only be part of one entourage.
Already used the app? Check out the leaderboard to see where you stand or tweet a reminder to your followers to get more points.
You've got the BE Broadband love. Why not share it with your friends?
Much love,
Everyone @ BE
*Don’t worry, we won't tweet anything on your behalf without your express consent.
** Fine print here: spreadthelove.bethere.co.uk/pages/terms

Twitter should ban this sort of cynical marketing bullshit.

Someone needs to market little cards the size of Talisman cards with little love notes to people's hands....I mean single people need to get involved with these Hallmark Holidays too. Maybe have little gift boxes that include little bottles of vaseline and whatnot....

Yeah, like people getting sex on a regular basis deserve a holiday.

The most silly 'Marketing' I have seen lately is the 20% off women's shirts from the Eve Online store 'for your favorite women pilots!'.

Note - the company itself says it's 98% male playerbase.

Normally I'm a 'bah humbug' sort for this day, but I've got a week old relationship, so I'm still in the smarmy-can't-concentrate stage. It's pretty awesome. Plans to go out and see Gnomeo and Juliet :)

I'm very happpy that my missus feels the same way as I do about valentines day and doesn't acknowledge it as a holiday. There used to be so much bullshit pressure on Feb 14th with past sweeties with dinners and flowers and presents and whatnot. The first Feb. 14th we spent together we went with our friend Jake for all you can eat ribs and margaritas. It must have been a more romantical idea than I had though because the place was packed with couples.
