When replying to a post the screen initially shows focus in the Message window then jumps after about a second. You have just long enough to start typing, not enough time for any of it to end up in the box.

it only does that if what you are typing is very far from being interesting

lol, it's still not happening to me cuz my posts are so rich with content and flavour.
Seriously tho, it's prolly your internets Bowser. Mine used to be out of date and it did that back in the day.
The weird thing in your case is that the text should still end up in the box even if your screen has jumped. It's like your cursor is jumping which is odd. You using an iPad or somethin'?

Firefox 3.6.13 on XP Pro/Intel. That's about as generic as you're going to get.

IE leaves me in the message window but puts me at the top of the screen.

I get the same thing, using Firefox 3.6.10 (can't upgrade at my workplace) . ALthough IE 7 doesn't do that it does automatically take me to the top of the page and then I have to scroll down.

yeah, lol, I had to force myself to write Bowser instead of Browser there. The rest was business as usual.
I think 3 are actually slang tho and only one was erroneous. I did Bowser just for kicks but the rest is your regular cup-o-joe netsp33k.
