Elections of US America Election: The Card Game

‘Elections of US America Election: The Card Game’ brings together the best snark of political website Wonkette with the game design smarts of game developer Auroch Digital’s ‘GameTheNews’ initiative to create the greatest social card game in political history, mostly because it’s the FIRST ONE IN HISTORY TOO! (Maybe.)

You are a campaign manager trying to get your candidate into the White House, but the road to power in Washington DC is no smooth path. Each player must build up a team of slick political operatives, deploy a host of dirty (and clean) tricks, and indulge in general skullduggery of your opponents to ensure your man or girl-man wins the presidency.

"we've got the core rules worked out but are keen to get more ideas on how we can polish them!"

Not really a statement that instills confidence in a KS project. :oP

I can't say that I have any faith in a game called "Elections of US America Election" anyway...where did they learn about this subject, in Histories of US America History?

Or maybe this game is not from US America?

It's by Wonkette, which is a satirical political website. So it's in the vein of Colbert's "I Am America...And So Can You"

I gotta agree with Barnes that this is possibly the worst titled game ever. (Hmmm....thread topic?). The guy who conceived it is most likely cracking up every time he ponders the idea he put that out into the world. For those of us not in on the joke it's a non-starter.

It's likely riffing on that Miss South Carolina from 2007 that famously coined the phrase US Americans....

Technically, we are USAmericans. I always find it odd that we call ourselves Americans but people of the United States of Mexico are Mexicans. Both countries are called The United States...and both are in North America, but we're the Americans.

I'd also have to say that a game about elections in Mexico would be infinitely more interesting as they don't have a hegemonic 2-party system and I'd love to roll a crit for El Guapo to assassinate someone. Here, we only assassinate character

I'm assuming when you play a trump card it causes a lot of hub-bub at the table.

My wife considered it for a second and came up with "Smear Campaign". Not the be all end all great name for a game, but it's better than their smarmy jackass attempt

As with Campaign Manager 2008, I'm pretty sure this election will not be one I want to be reminded of in the future. I don't find much of the current bullshit to be hilarious. ('Swhy I unfollowed Wonkette itself. I don't lol at Trump anymore.)

It's a lexical choice your early leaders made. Americans probably sounds better than United Statesmen, which we sometimes hear say in French (États-Uniens). Every people living in North, Central and South America, all 35 countries, are Americans.

Hi there. I'm Tomas, the designer of the game above on KS . I totally understand your point. Just wanted to reassure that I do indeed have the full design done, however we wanted tiers to involve people and get their ideas, so wanted to make sure backers at those tiers felt they had space to take part in it. Here's my bio as a games designer. Thanks :)

This is correct. The game title came from Wonkette; turns out you can use up your quote of the word 'election'.. :)
