While compiling the meta list of recommendations threads I thought of a few we hadn't seen come up yet. This is one of them. So what are your favorite post-apocalyptic board/card games?

I haven't played the game, but wouldn't it be during the zompocalypse? I would say it becomes post-apocalypse after the zombies have taken over. I know that with LNOE and a lot of other zombie games its during the initial zombie outbreak.

True. You've got, at most 18 survivors, but initially just a few zombies, so the game would be setting during the zombie apocalypse, not after.

Maybe we could clarify this by identifying traits of the post-apocalypse setting.

1. Due to an apocalypse of some sort, civilization has collapsed, or at least reverted to a backward state.
2. Resources are very limited and essential to survival.
3. There is significant danger. Maybe from zombies, or robots, or cannibals, or mutants, maybe disease or radiation, or even just other survivors.

With those criteria in mind, the best game I can think of is Armageddon Empires, even though it technically isn't a board game. I say technically, because it really does play like a boardgame, except that certain elements function very smoothly because they are handled by the computer.

Blockmania and Judge Dredd (still haven't played this yet though).

And how about Fortress America for pre-Post-Apocalyptic ;-)

Necromunda has a feel of a Post Appoc world...Not sure if it truely qualifies though.

Wreckage from FFG.

There's really not enough post-apoc themed games out there, IMO.

I'd really like to see a good post-apoc adventure game someday.

I agree, something Fallout-ish.

I'd think they'd qualify, seeing that the world those two come from is a direct result of an atomic war.

Block Mania's great as a DOAM, but Judge Dredd.... ehhh, it's okay.

My adding to the list would be Minion Hunter.

Too true.

Arctic Scavengers is great! It really needs more because it gets dull quick but so far it is a great game.
My Tide of Iron zombie variant may be my favorite but it's not actually a game so...
Neuroshima Hex if it is indeed post-apocalyptic... which I don't know if it is. It's just a combat game really.

I just can't think of much at all. My favorite ever was a G.U.R.P.S. campaign we played, cinematic type thing with sin city type heroes.

Wordy McWorderton. Too bad that Bethesda now owns the IP, and fucked the franchise to boot, otherwise I could see FFG doing something with it.
