I saw the event cards at a shop once and came very close to buying them because I was like, oh event cards that sounds kinda cool, like random plagues and barbarians (and maybe some good stuff). I was really glad I didn't when I got home and looked at what they actually were.

Real event cards could be cool though.

So weird... The cards are supposed to decrease the randomness, but don't they actually add more randomness with the arbitrary events?

I want to publish the Settlers big box expansion for $50.

It will contain a sheet of paper saying:

"Remove the dice.
Every player receives three sheep each turn.
No player ever gets wood.

Your tastemakers already rated this expansion a 10."

You forgot about the auction to use the 2:1 sheep port. Also, replace the Robber with a visiting noble that players strive to impress whenever he is adjacent to their settlements.
