Debating which children's show is the best world....

I was reading this guy's commentary on children's shows and which world would be the best to live in. It was really funny. So I had to add to it.

Man, I spend so much time watching Sesame Street, Elmo, Thomas the Train, Sid the Science kid, etc. with my little boy. I know my shit on these shows.

I'm not sure which is worse. Steve Week's pretend fanboi'ism, or Superfly's thinking he has to Andrew Dice clay everything.

I don't "Andrew Dice Clay" anything. I'm just me. For instance, my mom defriended me on Facebook because I was too vulgar and obscene. I called her and told her that if she had been around more, maybe I'd have turned out better, but she left me with an ex-special forces spy ex-husband.

She had to agree.

Amen!

We've been exceedingly selective of what our nearly 2 year old watches because we want it to be educational sure, but we also have to endure it. So we have her pretty much limited to puppetry: Seseame Street (it is criminal that they discontinued this streaming on Netflix and I think that may have us cancel it), old school Muppet Show and occasionaly Fraggle Rock.

I'm sure we'll get more into other stuff - it's inevitable. But for now, we just want to be able to limit her intake to what's bearable and what's actually educational.

Damn that Mr. Noodle is an creepy idiot though...

Ruby Gloom is actually a pretty good show for kids, especially girls. My wee snot sprite is still a bit young to really understand the shows, but once she starts piecing them together, both the bride and I feel confident in the overall messages. As far as living in the world itself. Sign me up. It's may not be House of Frightenstien, but it'll do.

What? This is a pointless exercise. The answer is Bagpuss. Everyone else is wrong.

We like Yo Gabba Gabba around our house. Our son got a giant foam playmat with YGG characters for his second birthday, and as soon as the first rip of paper was off he cried "MUNO!" with joy and couldn't unwrap that bad boy fast enough.

My wife and I sing the songs to each other, even when he's asleep. Don't Bite Your Friends is a family favorite.
