Logan - Barney's Incorrect Five Second Reviews
There Will Be Games

Someone has come along. The tired descriptive of superhero or comic-book movie 'for adults' has been made on many less deserving motion pictures, but it never has rang more true than here.

The pacing, the language, the limited but explosive action sequences, the depth... all of it designed for a more appreciative palette. Even though we've seen Hugh Jackman's Wolverine more than enough times to describe him blindly to a sketch artist, I mean it when i say that Hugh Jackman is almost unrecognizable in this performance because it's so different and so tired. I'm not exactly sure how long Logan has been alive but you will FEEL his age and life experiences in this one. It's remarkable.

Patrick Stewart is one of my childhood favourite actors and he brings great layers to Xavier's suffering and dilemmas. I also don't think enough is being said about Dafne Keen's performance who somehow pairs ferociousness and vulnerability in almost every scene she's in.

It's great to see a film that fully explores the dangers that mutants bring unwillingly along with them wherever they go. Choosing to spend time with them is practically a death sentence and the characters here will make you feel that burden that they walk or wheel around with constantly. I can just hear Uncle Ben now...

I worry that the quality of this story is so high that future genre films may appear empty or feel very thin.

More of these please.
