"The Replacement" is the 5th season Buffy episode, btw. I'm sure we'll cover is some day in our inevitable Buffy podcast tentatively titled "The 90s Teenaged Girl Trap."

I suggested to Al that we should start a Buffy podcast, but he pointed out that if we continue at this rate with the Nerd Trap, it will take us like 7 years to finish.

Hey Trek fans. I hope you have all been enjoying this podcast as much as we enjoy making them, but the lack of comments makes me wonder. I need to buy some more recording equipment in order to keep these coming, so I'm starting the first F:AT Kickstarter. Please pledge by making a comment about the podcast. If we get 5 comments I will purchase a new digital converter and you will all get the next episode. As a special "stretch goal" at 20 comments all F:ATies that made a comment will recieve EXCLUSIVE recorded material not availabe in the retail version. (Live and learn.)

Our comments don't count, so don't even think about starting that shit.

Actually Gary that's not true. You see I already had a two track converter that I used for recording band rehearsals and all my solo recording, but I needed a four track to record the four voices for The Nerd Trap. I bought an M-Audio Quad for about $200 not knowing that M-Audio had been acquired by another company. It worked for a little while but then developed a horrible buzz whenever I used more than two tracks. After a very difficult and lengthy contact with the company they had me mail it to them AT MY EXPENSE and sent it back about a month later. It worked for a while and then developed the same problem. I am done throwing good money after bad. So now I have two stereo converters. I see that Tascam has a reasonably priced four track converter that I can purchase for the show, but being that the last two episodes received zero comments I wondering if it's really worth it. The four of us can drink and talk about Star Trek anytime. We often do.

If all I have to do is comment in order to encourage you guys to continue with FatTrap or NerdTrek or StarCast (or whatever this is called), then I must man-up and decloak and comment!

Although I'm unsure if posting will merely encourage you to buy more microphones? I didn't really follow that part. Though I like the idea of crowd-sourcing enthusiasm.

Anyway, this is a great podcast, the best one I have ever listened to. Even if I one day eventually get around to listening to some other podcast, this will still be the best.

Btw, the "180 Degree Rule" pertains to keeping a consistent camera angle in visual storytelling (whether is film or comics). If Kirk has been on the left the whole scene, and Spock has been on the right, if you suddenly show Kirk on the right, the audience becomes momentarily distracted, part of their thoughts now occupied with filling in an explanation (i.e., "the characters must have moved around while we weren't looking"), instead of following the story. Sometimes filmmakers or comics artists get too ambitious or creative with their camera work, they violate the 180 degree rule, and the viewer/reader gets dizzy.

Dammit Al, I'm a lurker, not a commenter!

OK, how's this: I enjoy listening to these podcasts, and I haven't even seen the original series! Surely that counts for three votes? So now you've got your five. Buy the damn equipment, and keep broadcasting. Please.

Unlike a game review that I can read quickly and make a comment Nerd Trap takes more time to savor and think about. Call me nerd trap nerd but I actually like to go back and watch the episode before listening to the pod cast.
