Bastardized version of Merchants and Maruaders?
EDIT: On a closer look, it seems more like Merchant of Venus with a variable board and Supremacy's stock market

    OH SHIT!

Now we know who won the little legal battle with Stronghold, and what they did about it!

Strange. I playtested a very similar-seeming game a couple of years ago, and the designer was former-FFG guy Darrell Hardy. It was a pick-up-and-deliver game featuring flying ships and floating islands, with some combat (against pirates). There were also passengers that you could transport, and some of them offered special abilities or difficulties. And there was an odd macro-economic effect that diminished the payout for goods for each previous sale of that type of goods in a given game round.

Ummm, Merchant of Venus from FFG is still available for pre-order from your FOGS, so I suspect this is unrelated to that debacle...

    1. "A game by Gioacchino Prestigiacomo"
    2. "Dust Games"
    3. the game looks nothing like Merchants of Venus

Conclusion: It's not Merchants of Venus.

  • avatarSuperflyTNT

Uh, yeah. I wasn't being serious.

    wice:
    1. Everyone knows that Gioacchino Prestigiacomo is Richard Hamblins real name.
    2. Actually it's "Just Games", FFG's letting us know they won't be merchandising mugs (for example).
    3. Because it's been rethemed.

For the record, based on the rulebook, it is kind of a rip-off of Merchants & Marauders, so Ancient_of_MuMu was right the first time.

The designer basically simplified M&M's trading and combat (which might make the game significantly faster), and introduced a negotiation-based market-manipulation phase (which will probably slow it down, but since everybody is involved in it, I don't think it's a problem).

It's derivative as fuck, but I'm still interested.
