This is the shit man, it doesn't get better than this.
Space Hulk, produced at this level is the kind of game that hooks gamers for life. Forget TTR, that only appeals to middle aged non-gamers, who want to play more games with the family. Space Hulk makes Gamers out of raw material.
I went ahead an pimped my copy with the battle foam insert for the game, and will begin painting these bad boys very soon.

I freaked when I pulled up my order on line, and it displayed "unavailable" next to the Space Hulk item. Then I saw the "shipped 1" and the package weight and could breath again.
It may be sitting in piles at some local stores, but all the local shops around here sold out the day it was released.
It looks awesome, but I can't really spend that much. I have a bunch of terminators and genestealers left over from WH40k days, so I'm considering one of those eBay auctions for the game without the minis. Looks like there are a good number of people who bought the game just for the figures and are selling the box with everything else in it relatively cheaply.
GW probably made good profit on this and I hopefully they resurrect some more of their board games.
Have you seen the Space Hulk photo on the BGG front page?

Mike -- I know that you have already obtained your SH copy. Are you still interested in unloading Gammarauders?
It's a good thing I have a supply of AT badges, I've turned in quite a few.
I probably won't sell since I don't need SH capital now...but if Ghost has something to trade, we might be on.
So I decided to take the plunge and build a Hirst SpaceHulk. What does this rules set bring that the old one doesn't have? I believe I have the 1st edition but am not positive. I'll be shopping around for figures that aren't included in the old edtion. (the librarian, cat..ect)

What does this rules set bring that the old one doesn't have?
Embossed floor tiles twice the thickness of the previous editions. A plastic C.A.T. figure, a Blood Angels artifact, and a dead marine sitting upon a throne. Glossy rulebook with photo examples. Broodlord. Oh, and many of the same rules arguments that occured in the first edition; apparently, Jervis Johnson does not remember that his name was on four of the five previous Space Hulk games/expansions (I could not find his name listed in the credits for Space Hulk Campaigns). Anyhow, a Space Hulk FAQ is already in the works at GW. ;D
WHAT DID I SAY BITCHES?!?!
I SAID THIS GAME WOULD BE HARD TO GET IN 3 MONTHS!
LOOKS LIKE I AM ON TRACK TO BEING RIGHT!
BWAAHAHAHAHAHA.
You people owe me money.

Hey Malloc, I just got my battlefoam today. Did you get both trays or just the mini tray? I have both. Overall I am quite pleased with the mini portion. I've tried to tetris the tray portion and have for the nonce giving up and am using it for my boxless 1st editions pieces.
Any luck with both trays? When I have more time I may give it the ol college try again. I got it to almost work, the biggest problem I had was not getting the door bases to fit. Without the second tray, I just bagged the doors, and blips and such and the whole deal fits in great.
I've got 2 games in now one as stealers and one as termies. Fantastic game. As I play it more, man, this could be my first ever 10.
Vote it a 10, or Maddog will ban you from this site.
I got both trays, and i got it all in there.
I am thinking of cutting the bottom out of the bottom foam tray to make room for the bits. There is no need for the solid foam bottom piece, but removing that would make a gap. so I am planning on just cutting it out of the center spots. Also I had to cut a slit into the top piece to get the one large stealer on the bent metal to fit.
The lid still sits up a bit due to rule books and it is clearly a store flat kind of game.

Whew, glad I got one before it was too late...thanks to a couple of sales here, I was able to pretty much trade up for it. Thank you F:AT!
I put my miniatures together last night...this is, without a doubt, the best-looking production of a board game I've ever seen. The miniatures are the best plastics I've ever seen, and even if you're modelling-adverse like me they clip together almost magically and they look great unpainted. You don't even have to glue them onto bases.
I actually enjoyed putting them together...you really get a chance to appreciate the level of detail and character the models have.
