The new Death Guard codex and models are top shelf. Just when I think I'm out...they pull me back in.

I'm not sure if GW has ever done this, but here is a 40k set that has no space marines. Old news to some here I'm sure.

They're just moving excess product.

Mark my word, if it's a bundle with discounts, it's almost always about moving stocks.

The Eldar/Deathwatch set was moving Venerable Dreads and Vanguards. Also, some sets made up of weird choices like Pathfinders, Dire Avengers, and Stormtalons.

The only notable exceptions are the Start Collecting sets, or edition starters.

But it’s also introducing 4 new models including those knights.

I agree. But even if that's the gospel truth, at the very least, they are using it to introduce new product along side shifting stock.

I could be wrong, but if I understand this correctly, it's not a self contained product, but an intro box for 40k. It may contain rules for it's own scenarios to play it (which is frankly awesome, as an archeological dig waking elder evils is always stylish), but it's still a starter. A starter without some form of space marines.

We are truly in the end times.

Dibs on the cut rate price when you unload this.

(Not a joke)

That's the bait. They did the same with the Emperor's Talon box trying to move Rhinos and classic Land Raiders. Although I'm not sure what 4 new models? I think the new ones are the little knights and crpytek.

BTW, some of GW's old sculpts are timeless. Ork boyz came out in 2000, and I'll be pissed if they update that.

This may be true. But I haven't played 40k since 1st edition (which was garbage), but I'm tempted by this because it's essentially all my favourite models from the game.

Oh, absolutely. It's a boon for those who like the models. I got a Land Raider, 2 Rhinos, a Drop Pod, Vanguard Squad and a Venerable Dread off those bundles.

I was wrong, it is only 2 models- the Knight Armiger and the Cryptek. I never really see folks around here playing Necron or AdMech, wonder if Forgebane will change that. I'm so overloaded on 40k armies right now I'm not even thinking about it.

Necrons are totally timeless, they need never replace many of those models. Back in the 2000s I used to play with this dude that had a massive Necron army that he stored in these ice cream buckets.

I've never owned a 40k army. Back when I played a lot of WFB I almost went in for Chaos Space Marines, largely because I really liked the Obliterator models. But I gave up the GW hobby before I pressed the button.

Haven't had any flicker of interest again until those Mechanicus models came out. I loathe the current Marine designs, both Imperial and Chaos, but I love the AM figures in equal measure. Necrons a distant second.

Still, however tempting it is to see both in one box, I can't see myself getting it when I can't even finish painting a Shadespire warband.

Yep, it is truly the end times.

Now if they only had good rules to use them with... :p
