How to Embarrass Yourself in Front of Your Son's Cub Scout Troop... Via Technology!

There Will Be Games

Last night was The Boy's Den meeting.  We were discussing family trees and had an Eagle Scout come to talk about his scouting experience, along with his two sons.

My son and I were working on the family tree portion while the speaker did his thing.  I texted my mother about her mother's name and my dad's parents, because when they died I was too young to remember them.

Now, my Droid has a customizable notification tone.  Being a Futurama fan, the tone was Bender pleading for someone to deal out a butt kicking.  When my mother responded, I grabbed the phone self-consciously and turned down what I thought was the master volume when the tone sounded.

Oh.... How wrong I was...  I turned down the media volume, not the ringer.

So, in the middle of the speaker's son's speech, My phone decries for all to hear:

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SOMEBODY KICK HIS ASS!!!"

Now imagine alllllll the adults turning and looking in my increasingly red-faced direction.

However, the speaker's son recovered beautifully, "It's okay, that happens in class all the time!"

Note to self: change notification tone.
