Alien Assault. Let the Download Begin!

Teardown once had a game called....umm....can't recall it straight away...but I DO know that it made me REALLY REALLY want to play Space Hulk!

They have revamped and honed that other game into "Alien Assault" and it looks PRETTY fucking amazing!

It's a shame they weren't allowed to keep it space hulk. Looking at the other space hulk titles, this is probably the best. Then again Games Workshop might be negociating to make a new Space Hulk Videogame.

Thanks for the heads up by the way I knew it was coming at the end of september but I always find it hard to keep track of all the dates in my head.

Early thoughts?

I started with the Infestation campaign by accident...need to go back and do tutorial set. But so far it is smashing fun! Sounds are awesome, tension high with the timer in effect and so far I am barely holding on!

One tech question though...is it MEANT to move so slow? Feels like the Marines are crawling. Way to speed that up just a little?

This will be a lot of fun for awhile to come!

Look far be it from me to tell you guys what to do- but- if you have a few bucks to spare show some love for the TD crew. This is exactly the kind of stuff i wnat to encourage. Especially when you consider what GW and THQ put them through.

My gut tells me that the popularity of Space Hulk V 1.0 by Teardown played no small part in the producing of 3rd ED...

Oh...to solve the speed problem mentioned by me above..

in the options.dat file there is a heap of things you can change. One of them is Marine animation speed. Default is 5 out of 10...but I cranked it up and it is now more to my liking. Some other crazy ideas in there as well! Lose whole campaign if you fail a mission?!? Hardcore

Much to play around with here...including adding your own VO stuff. Haven't figured that out yet...but mod types should have a lot to play with here thanks to a mission editor as well.

edit: Simpler solution...in game you hit ESC and it brings up another set of options, of which one is speed. But the hardcore stuff is in the .dat!
