Weeknight Wargames?

Two player only.

Not less than 3 hours and not more than 5 hours. 4 hours being the sweet spot.

Not multiple plays of a shorter game.

Lower complexity for a wargame, but not "beer & pretzels" low.

Not too abstracted, which I'm guessing discounts most multi-scenario games.

Not chess-like, real life has random shit.

Crusader Rex. (Many Columbia games should fit the bill.)

Since we just had a thread on Warriors of God, I'll throw it out even though it is a little shorter than your sweet spot.

Conflict of Heroes should be considered if you want a tactical level game.

I'll also second Hannibal.

If MMP had any brains at all they'd use this as their marketing hook.

Not much in english for you - this is the best one out there that I know. Not a 4 hour game (shorter by 50%) and your topic is of course a multiplayer topic even though you asked for 2 player games...

How's your Japanese?

Anyway, here's your game:

I figured I'd be more likely to stump you that way. ;-)

Looks good, but alas I don't know Japanese.
