I have two more unusual ones: Union vs. Central and Shanghai Trader. Why? Because Union vs. Central is a two-player card game that takes 6+ hours and because in Shanghai Trader as you attempt to leave with your ill-gotten gains you could be assassinated and eliminated from the game.

I can't defend Acquire or why I like it. I'm pretty sure that if I encountered it for the first time today, I would find it boring. But I was raised as an Acquire player by my dad, so it's just part of who I am. The game does have some merits: simple rules, nice components, reasonable play duration, minimal downtime, etc. But those aren't usually the qualities that I require in my favorite games.

Yep. I have to go with ACQUIRE as well. That game is just good. You can play tight and get skeeeeeeeeerewed or you can go all out and get super lucky for the windfall. or vice versa. Do not get cash poor in the early-to-mid game! Do NOT!

The only other economy games I have are things STOCKS & BONDS which is what it sounds like and BUY LOW & SELL HIGH which is not an economy game.

I want to try PAYDAY again. I remember loving that thing.

Pretty much all of my choices were listed already.

Powergrid is a fun game with a good map and has a decent amount of conflict and direct interaction plus the coolest market mechanic I've ever seen. It's popular, reasonably priced, looks great, and plays in a reasonable time too.

Railways of the World is the one I play the most often right now and would probably choose to play over everything else I'm listing right now.

I'm the Boss wins the fun award for eco games I've played.

Greed Inc. I haven't it played yet but I'm planning on buying this holiday season, it looks awesome though.

Imperial 2030 is a lot of fun. I've loved every play of it and each time I think I'm going to find a problem with it's design I fail and enjoy failing. It's won me over despite a number of bias's I've tried to have against it.

I also have a lot of friends trying to sell me on Indonesia, but I'm trying to avoid too much in the way of learning rules right now (other priorities and all) but it's certainly worth looking into.
