It seemed to have all the elements I like in a game but it fell flat. I found the players were confused with the symbols and what each animal did, and one player could care less what they did, HAHAHA. These symbols were not done very well and I think they would have been better off just going with text on the cards like Guillotine does with its cards.
Will give it one more chance over the Christmas gaming extravaganza.

Seriously, don't bother reading the cards, because unless you know what they mean, it's just confusing.
Print out this, hand to players.

The first couple games might not be "optimal" because you don't know the card powers by heart. After the 4th game, if you still don't get it, yeah, maybe it's not for you. We love it, and everyone I've played with loves it. My buddy just sent me the game, the expansion from Spiel, and the Taz promo, all shrunk down to poker-deck size. Fuckin' A, baby. All about it.

Unfortunately, today's games have to be optimal out of the gate or I will never get the game to the table again. I am more forgiving being the Pro Gamer I am but my game group is brutal.

It takes like 2 games of Beasty Bar to get the symbols down.

We played Knizia's Figaro right after that and it went over much better. Felt like going from driving a Yugo to a Porsche.

I like the poker cards because my 7 year old has tiny little kid hands and having the large tarot cards is a bit absurd and hard to handle for her. Doesn't seem to hurt though because her kid luck pretty much guarantees that she draws something that fucks me over....

think Beasty Bar is an okay card game but man, you guys talk like it's revolutionizing the industry and dazzling the crowned heads of Europe.
Typical insiders in Over-Hype mode, that is why I tell the straight scoop, I'm an outsider, no connections , could care less about fitting into the hive mind.

No, nobody has or is saying that. What I'm saying is that if you have a glass of bourbon and 30 minutes, this is one of the best ways to utilize that 30 minutes. It's just a really fun game, at least for me, and everyone I've played with.
