Anyone remember Section Z, the hardest NES game ever made? Had that one.
My first blush with RTS video games : Herzog Zwei for the Sega Genesis! Loved that game, your avatar was a Robotech Valkyrie that could transform!
And Rygar looked nothing like the arcade Rygar as after you got past the first side scroll level it opened up into a map like Zelda and you had to visit these Santa Claus Buddhas that give you cool items.

After watching a bunch of Super Mario Maker videos, I decided I need to play Super Mario World again. It's just so good. I can't wait to go through it again after all these years.

That is actually part of the whole thing---I watch these levels and what it really makes you want is for the whole original mario 3, world, etc Japan team to get back together and do another game. Not random dumb mfers who try to fuck you with 100 piranha flowers or whatever.

Also, the new mario brothers 2d games on the Wii U rock. However, if your still pinning for old skool mario games, you can get pretty much all of them on your Wii U via the eShop.
