Best Non-Howard Conan

I think that hat/outfit is from the cover of one of the old paperbacks (I remember Roy Thomas talking about it in one of the intros to the reprints). I know what I'm dressing as for Halloween!

How about that Elric?

The color comic was Conan the Barbarian. I recently re-read that two-part story with Elric, and was surprised to see that Michael Moorcock co-plotted the story. The pointy hat is a bit silly-looking, but otherwise those two issues rock.

Also, turns out it probably wasn't Moorcock who co-wrote, but one of his collaborators (can't remember the name off hand).

I prefer the DAW paperback covers for Elric illustration.

I think it's those covers Almalik posted. Those are fairly awesome, well besides the overly-large manga sword. Maybe it's because you just don't see character designs like that. It's got that old school vibe I dig.

I always liked the Whelan Elric covers - Stormbringer being the classic but these two were my favs:

I believe Whelan did the majority of the DAW covers. They are better than the Lancer psychedelic covers.
