Come on guys, let's get this going.

I can travel anywhere, I only need a place to stay.

---

@Andy: I'm also up for a wargame weekend, just tell me when. I even now have the following games with me: Blue vs. Gray, Sweden Fights On, Successors

I will be in London from February 5th to 9th.

I have no commitments on Saturday yet. Anyone have a plan for games in or not too far away from London?

On Sunday I will be playing games at Chestnut Lodge Wargames Group, who design their own games. First session will be a playtest of the Caesar's War in Gaul megagame and afternoon session will be an operational game for the Napoleonic period. If you like not only to play but also to discuss mechanisms and feel of a game, this might be a good opportunity to join in. You're free to drop by if you drop a note at www.chestnutlodge.org.uk

I have no commitments on Monday also.

cheers

Jur

I'm in Richmond, just on the outskirts of south west London and right on top of the main line into Waterloo. If we're talking about a London meetup then somewhere close to a main line terminus like Waterloo or Kings Cross is probably going to work out convenient for everybody. I can also get together an extra couple of London based AT players who don't post in these forums to make a bigger group.

I'm free most weekends, but I can't really travel unfortunately. That's up until March, when I'll be on serious babywatch.

Which probably pretty much puts me out of the running I guess ... ah well, hopefully we'll make a 2nd try sometimes.

I thought the idea was to meet in your town.

I'd like to hear from Tom and Adrian.

No, I mean that was the idea when we first tried to arrange a meet-up.

IIRC he lives in Bath.

Tom's in Swindon, I'm in Didcot.
So from west to east it'd be Bath, Swindon, Didcot, London (Matt, Tom, me, Simon).

That's the reason we haven't any non euro-centric games clubs outside of Games Workshop branches. It's not like there's a shortage of players.

I hope you guys get your meet up sorted out, I didn't realise I was gatecrashing :D In the meantime, if anybody wants to get into some AT games in London then let me know via pm as i'd be happy to get people together with other gamers.

There's definitely a shortage of players out west, from my experience and what Adrian and Matt have mentioned !

I'm out of work at the moment so most of my time is going into getting employed again during a recession (especially when you have things like a house and a child to support).
The other problem, for most of us scattered over the UK, is where to meet/play/stay - houses are damn small in this country (I can't offer space for gaming or sleeping), venues cost a lot, and we don't have cheap motels etc like the US or other countries.

But in regard to all that, once I am back to work I will be happy to travel somewhere and chip in for room hire (I can just sleep in the back of my car, done that plenty of times in my younger days).

By posting here I've indicated interest. I've not mentioned any availability restrictions (you could argue greater distance less probability is implied).
When someone posts a date and venue I'll say yea or nay.

Well, that's a real pity.

We'd probably have to wait until March, when Tom (hopefully) and Matt are allowed to leave the house again. That's also the last month I'm in London.

I try and see who I can meet in February.
