Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Trashdome - Talisman VS Runebound

RUNEBOUND doesn't. It thinks it's a real game. It isn't. You fundamentally do the same conceptual thing in RUNEBOUND, but there's a pile of game garbage on top of it burying all the fun in a woeful grave of- yes- fun murder. The game itself is a fun murderer.

Can someone photoshop a picture of Runebound and Clearclaw staring deeply into each other's eyes?

It _is_ a Martin Wallace game, you know...and Clearclaw sure does like him some Martin Wallace. That's probably like his life's dream, to meet Martin Wallace and be swindled in a contractual deal by him.

TALISMAN- the only game in this competition that hasn't been touched by Martin Wallace. Vote!

Runebound has shopping. I'm surprised it doesn't have auctions or worker placement. Maybe they'll add worker or ally placement in the next expansion.

Runebound doesn't even belong in Trashdome it should in the Eurodome against Kingsburg or one the other crappy new Euros with Dice.

Choo choo choo, the horseshit central cart is in the station.

Martin Wallace DISOW0NED Runebound. That should fucking win it right there. But you fags are scared that a vote for Runebound is a vote for Fred Price fixing.

Shopping? The city expansion for talisman HAD NOTHING BUT SHOPPING! I hear the forth edition had a space where you can buy Uba's boots.

But all jokes aside, you assclowns that find the runebound movement system too hard should turn your dice in at the door. You should be banned from voting. You shouldn't be allowed to operate microwave ovens either, you may burn yourself.

How hard is it to walk into a forrest? Ask talisman:

boring generic talisman character: "Ahh, ye old forrest appears to be 3 leagues away! I should travel there to pick up thine donkey that be available as a follower."
Rolls movement dice, gets a four
boring generic talisman character: "Ahh shite, I walked right passed it. I'll have to get back."
Next turn rolls movement dice, gets a five
boring generic talisman character: "Fuck, went passed it again."

I like to use my brain a little while playing a board game.

I'd like to express that while Talisman may not have as wide a decision tree as Runebound does, it is far from being a brainless luckfest. It has many little nuances that new players do not see the importance or influence of, or may not even see them at all; this is a lot of the reason that people who only play the game once or twice and never really get how everything works together think that the game is a total random-fest.

This is sort of the whole point of the Talisman article I wrote last month.

Holy brown cubes, Batman!

Talk about "manipulating ambiguity!"

Did we say hard? No, we said STUPID, UNINTUITIVE, AND TEDIOUS. Just like your unwavering defense of Runebound! :)

I'll also have to vote for Talisman.

Runebound's clunky and boring. Expansions might make it better, but I can't be bothered to spend any more money on that turd.

I`ll chuck in my hat into this ring of depravity and delicious metaphor. I own the 2nd edition of Talisman, and all I could remember was walking past my objectives over and over again. Its like a Tolkien-esque Monopoly ripoff with toads. At least they`re plastic toads now...

I choose Runebound for its depth, its creation of several unique big box expansions, modular adventure decks, and fun high factor. I still don`t know what the point of Talisman Timescape was other than to make a 3hr Monopoly session into a 4.5 hour Monopoly session.

The Cylons have spoken.

End of line
