Do it.

It'd be awesome to see more work from other folk up in here.

I'll have to get some photos of my stuff. I got my WWE Showdown figures done but still haven't found a way to reduce the tackiness after varnishing them. I may just need to wait it out.

Currently painting the Imperial Assualt: Bespin heroes/Villians and the Mansion of Madness 2.0 heroes. I'm hoping to have them done this weekend so they will be ready for gaming by next weekend.

In my experience, if they're tacky, they stay tacky forever. I had this issue with my Last Night on Earth stuff, which really STILL pisses me off, 4 years out. There is a solution: Mix 2-3 parts water with PVA glue, and brush on a thin layer. It covers the tackiness up and you end up with an almost rubbery feel, which is better. If it doesn't take the first time, do it again and again to build up a layer of PVA. Just be advised to NOT RUSH. Thin it out really well or it gets drippy and you end up with "droopy" looking areas, especially in areas like crotches, which is both disturbing and amusing in equal parts.

Same thing happened to my Last Night on Earth set. All the minis stayed tacky. I couldn't stand it so sold the game off.

Pete, too bad you're selling of your Armada stuff. Your ships here looked ace!

To be fair, I pretty much ended with those. I just played it in primer (each faction was primed in a different color) and that was that.

This Nightshade model looks like a good candidate for a Batman style treatment, but I never was much of a DC fan. However, I was into a sorta ‘not-Batman’ character from Marvel…Night Thrasher. Well, I was into the first run of the New Warriors through Nova, and Night Thrasher was the leader.

I understand he’s dead now, but I used his colors and get-up as an inspiration for painting this Nightshade model. I added a little more red and light grey though just to give the fig more color…a solid dark grey fig wouldn’t do.

This model took longer than it look because the detail on the face is incredibly small. I had to do the eyes over and over and over. Eventually, I just settled on “oh,well…guess he’s got white contacts” which is fine because his image in the season two book looks to have no pupils as well.

Though looking at the model now, I should have painted some checks on him because he’s clearly skanking…

I finally got a couple of photos uploaded that I've done. I tend to go for a good tabletop level play. I stopped going for competition level painting for something that I like and I'm not embarrassed by.

Great job with the bases on the MoM minis.

Did you 'blackline' the wrestlers?

Thanks! Depending on the game, I like to paint the bases like the background of the board. So they are using tiles from the game. For Fury of Dracula, I did the map with occasional train lines running through them.

As for the wrestlers, it was the skin tone under them. I generally start with a Dark Flesh undertone and gradually lighten them. Usually there is not much of it you will see on the final product. For the wrestlers, I left it in an exaggerated style.
