I'm a huge Johnny Lauck fan, which is why I'm all about this. I agree that it's retarded to do print-and-play for all the components besides the models.
The magic here isn't the game or the car models, though. It's the 40$ Salvage Crew (all the way at the bottom). I have a lot of them for post-apoc gaming and they're fantastic. I also have about 3/4 of the dungeon terrain stuff, which is terrific as well. To me, I'd pledge 40$ and just get those models. 2$ a pop for pewter miniatures is no joke these days.

Low count block games with fog of war (decoy pieces) is also something I dig. I'm hoping with the stretch goals or post-launch support they release more material that can be played with the three games available in the Kickstarter. It looks like that's the plan so far anyways.
Me, too.
The Holdfast titles were great. They are overtaking Columbia as king of block games.

This will be the second game I've kickstarted (the other being Freedom: The Underground Railroad). With both, I trust the pedigree of the publisher and think the games look(ed) pretty slick. Plus, some locals I sometimes game with play-tested Scythe and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I feel you man, I can usually do without all the extra crap that bloats the price of games, but metal coins are awesome and these look especially sick. I'll take cool extras like metal coins any day of the week over crappy plastic minis.

I dig the aesthetic of it and am glad to see the characters aren't all sexed up. Looks like the core game is about $100, so I probably won't pull the trigger unless reviews are stellar.

I have never played a game and thought, "this is okay, but if it had metal coins it would be the absolute shit"
