I had no idea what a trial balloon was until today. I thought it might have been a euphemism for the ball that Jeffery Maier caught, but no. It was still a joke though. As was 'upstate speak', 'hayseed', cosmopolitan criminals, and the bit about summering in the Catskills. The Catskills are shit, I would never summer there.

The fact that people say New York is the best city is a big part of why I hate New York. If I see another douche walking around Vancouver with a fucking "I heart New York" T-shirt.. well I won't do anything but mumble under my breath but I'm still sick of it. Sao Paulo was awesome but personally I like Porcupine Ontario. Not a city but fuck cities. They're full of pretention and arrogance. Small towns is where it's at or a city that is caught in between sizes and can't find an identity. The desire to be more makes them interesting. That said Vancouver isn't even the best city in Canada. That honour goes to Toronto or Montreal. I can't decide.

I'm not going to read that article. I am simply not interested in someone Barthesizing Ghostbusters. It makes me angry the same way university courses on Oprah or Madonna make me angry. It's what Armond White does in ever review except he does it to troll and that's slightly more entertaining.

Don't go dissing Jerry Lewis now. It boggles my mind how the French got that right and the US completely neglects him (well, it's partly understandable in that he has had a LOT of truly awful movies, but so have a lot of other directors that we do show respect to).

No one walks around San Diego with an "I heart San Diego" shirt because *no one* loves San Diego. We do love the shit out of the weather, though.

Hey,don't take me the wrong way. I love Jerry. Funny man. But, like Ghostbusters(and Jay from Brooklyn), it is what it is.

Well one good result of all this B.S. regarding Ghost Busters is that it prompted me to watch the movie again.

And the good result of that is that I found out where one of my favorite curses comes from. "Mother puss bucket!"

I have used that for so long I forgot where it came from.
