Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× Talk abut Movies & TV here. Just tell us what you have been watching. Have hyper-academic discussions on visual semiotics. Whatever, it's all good.

What is your favorite show?

Forgot about the new BBC Sherlock. Fantastic show. It'll likely bump the Young Ones from my list, but I'm not sure how good Sherlock is on repeated viewings. I'll have to think some more.

Vyvyan's Mum: Well, then, aren't you gonna introduce me to your freinds?
Vyvyan: Oh, right. Mum, this is a friend of mine called Mike, this is a friend of mine called Neil, and this is a complete bastard I know called Rick.
Rick: He's just joshing, Mrs. Vyvyan, we're actually terrific freinds.
Vyvyan's Mum: Oh, he is a bastard, isn't he?

Could have sworn that this was a spammer thread, but if you all roll with it...

Just skimmed thorugh the answers, but is it possible that nobody mentioned Band of Brothers yet? What a great, great show, I've seen all episodes many times and it's just such an inspirational, and at the same time horrific and sad story.

Lots of good stuff has come out in recent years: Rome, Deadwood (where's the movie to tie all lose ends?!), Six Feet Under, Mad Men, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Freaks & Geeks. For the shorter comedies I'd go with Community, Frasier and Futurama.

Also Marcussen, as long as you're here, tell us more about Clash of Cultures!!!

The latter two, cut down in their prime.

I couldn't make it through the second season of Rome for some reason. Just lost interest. I think I stopped caring after (spoiler alert!) Julius Ceasar got killed. The actor playing him was the best part of the show for me.

Hard to choose but The Office (UK) would probably be at the top of my list.

Honourable mentions:
Scrubs
Seinfeld
The X-Files
Only Fools and Horses
Robin of Sherwood
Firefly

I think I'd go for The Prisoner.
No telling how many times I've watched it, and it never seems to get old.

And I still want a Caterham 7.

Man, The Prisoner was great.

I really should've added "The Avengers" (Peel and Steed, not Supers) and Fawlty Towers...let alone Are You Being Served. Love those British shows from back in the day.
