Only a partial prequel...the "young Indy" portion.

As for Scott being a great director, let's see, there's Blade Runner which is a classic, no doubt...
Thelma & Louise I liked 20 years ago, not sure if I'd still like it today. American Gangster I enjoyed.
But he's done a lot of crap too, too much for me anyway.
Just off hand:
Black Rain
GI Joe
Gladiator (bleh, terrible acting, especially the brat who is Caesar's heir, he is fucking terrible, who is it Joaquin Phoenix? Some of the worst acting ever committed to screen)
Blackhawk Down - fantastic book, the film? Not really.
Robin Hood
Hannibal
A Good Year I did't risk.
That said the Prometheus trailer looks pretty good.

I liked Blackhawk Down a lot. I ~LOVED~ Gladiator. I really liked Black Rain, but that may be because I like Sean Connery so much.

Scott is far from my favorite director, but he is more than capable of creating a good film. I have high hopes for Prometheus.

The Duelist: Loved it.
Alien/Aliens: Loved it.
Blade Runner: Loved it.
Legend: Loved it.
1492: Conquest of Paradise: Loved it.
Gladiator: Loved it.
Matchstick Men: Loved it.
Kingdom of Heaven: Loved it.
American Gangster: Loved it.
Black Hawk Down: Loved it.
Body of Lies: Loved it.
11 Movies that are easily in my top 50/100 is not a bad body of work.

I expect I'm in the minority here . But has no one watched Alien and Aliens back-to-back finding that the first film suffers a little in terms of pacing by today's standards? Or that the mystery/fear about the Alien has petered out a bit (neither being the fault of the film itself)?
Black Hawk Down I wanted to love because the book is unforgettable. Every time I see it I am brutally reminded I don't like it but I always forget the dtls later, must be blocking it out Brtual headache of a film and I don't mean in the way it was intended.
Gladiator... I'd like it more if it took itself less seriously. As it is I'd watch HBO's Rome again over this predictable revenge story _any_ day. The relationships between the characters are as FACILE as they get (could you waste Richard Harris and Crowe more?) Also, the exposition is never-ending and Phoenix's emperor... f*ck, somebody should stick a knife in his eye in the first scene. Worst thing Russel Crowe has done: if you want a great R. Crowe film first and foremost L.A. Confidential or the Peter Weir film Master & Commander.
Black Rain, Pete, not Rising Sun .
Body of Lies I liked.
Never saw 1492, Legend, The Duelist (which is/are apparently great). One thing at least: Ridley is miles away a better director than his brother Tony (even if Tony did do True Romance, one I like (from a Tarantino script). What's a Drexl?
