Black Barney wrote: Zman, yeah the remote sentries are one of the awesome additions of the director's cut. That's a good addition. The worst part is they show Hadley's Hope before the marines arrive. YOu see Newt's parents and Timmy. You see the dad come back with a facehugger. It's just so stupid. How are you supposed to identify with the marines when you have more info than they do? It,s so scary when they start sweeping the compound cuz you don't know jack about what's happened.

but yeah, the remote sentries are awesome. Director's cut also adds some lovey-dovey stuff for Ripley/daughter, Ripley/Newt, Ripley/Hicks

I'm sad robot sentries got wiped. It's awesome.

***Yay, I'm not crazy! Thanks, guys, for corraborating a memory.

I never really noticed that this wasn't rated yet. I guess I just assumed it would be R.

Another question for Scott is the film's rating. He hints that the violence may have been toned-down enough to facilitate a PG-13 rating, but intriguingly suggests that the impact will match the R-grade shocks of Alien and Aliens. "The question is, do you go for the PG-13, [which] financially makes quite a difference, or do you go for what it should be, which is R? Essentially, it's kinda R."

"It's not just about the blood, it's about ideas that are very stressful. I'm not an idiot, but I'll do everything I can to get the most aggressive film I can."

Guillermo Del Toro's Are You Afraid of the Dark was given an R-rating not because of violence, but because it was too intense. So hopefully Prometheus wont be toned down even more if the same thing happens.

Has the same look and feel as the recent Siri and Ipad commercials. Likely not a coincidence.

That was immensely creepy. This and the TED talk have done more to sell me on this than the actual trailers have. Ridley knows how to bring the future world to life, I tells ya. I did not like GLADIATOR at all, he's not a lock by any stretch. But between this and BLADE RUNNER, the man has a nice touch.

Good point about Gladiator, and you could have mentioned a dozen other piles of steaming shit he's put his fingers in, but this... it feels different, it's been a while since I've gotten excited about a movie coming up, this is one I won’t have to be dragged to the theatre to see.

Just saw the 3d trailer when I went to Avengers over the weekend. ALl I can say is holy fucking shit. Comes out June 8th, right before my birthday. My wife and my buddy's wife thinks it looks gross. Looks like it's going to be a bro date, no homo :p lol

That David ad for Prometheus is great. Even more subtle than that Umbrella Corporation skin product ad for the first Resident Evil movie, the one with the alligator walking around.
