Louise Brooks: Most beautiful woman ever?

More

I'm no "brie and croissant" drawing room snob when it comes to movies. I like 'em in all shapes and sizes. I'll also give most things a shot for at least a few minutes. So today I thought I'd give a silent movie a shot called "Diary of a Lost Girl" starring Louise Brooks.

The movie itself was actually very good. If you can step back and accept the different acting techniques that were required of silent film stars, I highly recommend it.

However, the point of my post is this....Holy mother of God..Louise Brooks is f-ing beautiful!

I am more partial Olive Thomas from the silent era myself.

I mean, ZOUNDS, man.

Not to mention this NSFW Alberto Vargas painting of her:

I went through a Louise Brooks phase when I was in my late teens. Mostly just succeeded at getting asked out by a lot of women.

I have always had a soft spot for Betty Page, because I likes them a bit naughty.

Though give me a girl with tattoos and glasses any day:

Yea, Betty Page is tops on my list thanks to an unshakable teenage fetish for 50s trashy pin-ups.

But the severe and sometimes savage beauty of Garbo trumps 'em all.

Read Roland Barthes' essay “The Face of Garbo" sometime. Don't know I've read anything quite like it on mask of beauty...

After Garbo, Ingrid Bergman is probably the next
