I don't think cold and calculating Carol is due to the recent entrusting of the girls to her care, but possibly some power tripping from the council position. She may feel like she is stepping into the vacuum left by Rick and doing what she feels needs to be done. Perhaps it is a control issue with her. She has a history of not being in control of her fate(?)and this was one thing she could do to exert control.

Well, this at least gets Laurie off the hook for her Season 2 crash a bit. Geez, people. I had a bad feeling just when Daryl kept looking at Michonne!
That huge herd is going to WRECK some chain link fences. They need concrete walls fast, yo.
Always wonder how "common place" the zombie apocalypse would get and result in seemingly dumb mistakes (carol outside the fence, daryl's inattention).

They need to find a backhoe and create a ditch. Why they don't have military 2.5 ton trucks is beyond me. Or at least put a cowcatcher on the front of your regular vehicles. I suppose it would obscure the Hyundai and Chrysler badges.

Haha, don't let reality get in the way of a good story, right?
Maaaaaybe they'd run on diesel which is harder to come by?

I know this is fantasy and all but I'd still like them to focus a bit more on the food situation. How in the heck were they supposed to feed all of those new people? Even a small group will consume a shitload. Scavving the local area is going to run dry fast.
Probably a boring aspect for most folks so I get it. But it's not Gilligan's Island.
I'm still mad they killed Merle. Bah!

They brought food from Woodbury (had a full storehouse iirc) and they've shown there are hunting traps set up. Plus working on a garden and have regular scavanging parties. I'd like to see more slice of life stuff too, but everyone else will complain its boring.

I don't think you have to go in depth about it, but a shot of nameless survivors working on a plot of land larger than a living room would go a long way in establishing that there is a food plan.

And is this the only prison in the entire world that doesn't have a courtyard? One of the reasons prisons are the PERFECT place to live in post-apolocyptic zombieville, is not only because its designed to keep human beings out and in, but also there's usually a big courtyard that you could farm with. This prison sucks.
And the drinking water supply is right beside a bunch of rotting walkers. They're boiling that water, ya? I bet it looks like stew when it comes out of the ravine. blech
but yeah I guess the horde is supposed to foreshadow the eventual departure from the prison? I can't believe there were less walkers in Atlanta.

If the prison wasn't shit like you said, I'd just hunker down there. But it sounds like road trip time.
I would head to the coast, get a boat, and only stop for gas. Paradise Island off Nassau looks good and it's not too far. Small enough that you could potentially control the zombie population there if you can barricade the two bridges leading to the main island. Ok, daydreaming... time for a nap.

Alcatraz seems perfect but it's a rock so you can't grow anything on it.
There must be some castle or fort somewhere that has a nice big green area and close to a water supply that could be perfect.
