but I'll make an attempt...
1. Can I pick Pixar animated movies as a franchise? It seems that would be a recognized franchise at this point, no? If I'm allowed to pick that, then I go with that.
2. Marvel
3. Star Wars
4. Harry Potter (I don't think we're done with this yet)
5. Batman (same)

We watched My Neighbor Totoro (sp?) this weekend with the kids. My first studio Ghibli.
I didn't get.
Are you a 7yo girl? That might be why you didn't get it. Just sayin'.
Rankin-Bass does not age well. Very much "of a time" and I am not a huge fan of that time.

Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Batman (except Nolan trilogy)
Lord of the Rings
Riddick
Conan
Highlander
Jaws
Resident Evil
Jurassic
Harry Potter
Marvel
Hunger Games
The Mummy
Pirates of the Caribbean
Planet of the Apes
Superman
Terminator
Tremors
Underworld

1. Indiana Jones - Even though I despised Kingdom of the Skull, the rest of the series is good enough to make up for it. Plus, unlike many, I'm a big fan of the Young Indy series.
2. James Bond - They're probably about 50/50 as far as good vs. bad movies, but among the good are some really excellent ones, and among the bad are still some excellent moments.
3. Madea - Tyler Perry's millions make these awesome, right?

2. Lord of the Rings- I watch these every 6 months or so. As I go through a divorce these are the only material items me and my soon to be ex are disagreeing about who gets. Again the LOTR are perfect for me. Don't love the Hobbit movies but they have some cool parts.
3.Marvel Studios-When time travel is a thing I'm going to go back in time to 1997 and show my 10 year old self The Avengers. You're welcome 10 year old Tim.
4. Batman-I've even got some love for Batman Forever.
5. Firefly/Serenity-This counts right?
