In my opinion it depends on the culture of the website and even how mainstream it is. While I expect to see the word "Gloryhole" on main articles on F:AT and think nothing of it, when I see that kind of language on a frontpage article for Kotaku or Engadget (which isn't totally uncommon) I can't help but roll my eyes and remember that they are just crummy blogs making an attempt to masquerade as a news source.

And for jolly good reasons! You were beginning to take on the mannerism of an adolescent involved in this game titled Calling Of Duty. Not the duty to communicate in a clear and polite way obviously. But since you have now seemingly eschewed frequenting these virtual realms of filthy language, your writing has much improved as a result, as is apparent in your renewed ability to chain together several grammatically correct sentences not interspersed with spelling mistakes. So for now my coffee table book on the obscenity of Mr. Barney's vocal and notational expressions can gladly remain unpublished.

Ask him for a fight. That always decides stuff in a fair and equitable way.

I (we) are always getting told off at WBC for inappropriate language which surprises me because I always think the language is totally appropriate for the situation. We are usually getting told off by a guy in a ridiculous gnomish purple hat so I rarely take any notice.

I follow the When in Rome rule, and at WBC it's as much about timing as it is location. At 11pm kiddies should be in bed so I can speak freely. At 2pm I'm a little more careful. Granted, my profanity is more vanilla than most, though "God Damned" is less appreciated in Jesusland than most of the other stuff and it's a personal favorite.

I don't have a problem with salty language in and of itself, but I am tired of the "style" choice of "THIS GAME NAILED JUSTIN BIEBER TO MY BALLS WHILE IT FORCED ME TO FELCH A HOBO LEPER" crap. We get it, you're irreverent and edgy, just tell me about the fucking game. I call it "nerdbro" and I've been reading shit like this for 15 years and it's so goddamn tired. In almost every case once you sift out all the "oh no he didn't say that, that's so wrong" junk you're left with nothing more than "I didn't like the game" (or comic or movie or whatever), nothing more. The same goes for its reverse: "THIS GAME WAS LIKE KATE UPTON RUBBING HER TITS ON MY FACE WHILE THIRTEEN MOTORCYCLES JUMPED OVER FLAMING NINJAS TO WHITE ZOMBIE SONGS" = "I liked it". I get it: you drink alcohol, fart, swear, and like you a titty, now tell me if the goddamn game is worth playing or not.
