Eclipse? Anyone here still play it?

I'd say that Rune Wars and TI3 have a great deal in common and though I may be in the minority on this opinion but I'd day Rune Wars is an improvement upon TI3.

Rune Wars doesn't really compare to Clash of Cultures. In CoC you are building and improving your civ. Your using techs to specialize in a particular field of knowledge. In Rune Wars, you are scrambling to get those runes and hold them tight to win. There is no tech tree and you aren't building cities. (You can build a stronghold but not really the same thing.)

CoC is about growth and Runewars is more of a race to the objectives.

I think we used it in an 8-player game. That game ran a tad long, so now it's all a blur.

At this point I can't imagine playing TI3 without Burocracy.

Clash of Cultures is a game we'll be talking about in ten years and still see it hitting the table.

Eclipse is a weak piece of shit cube pusher with no sense of space (as in spacial relations) or narrative. Seriously, game is worthless. It's a shit 4x game, a shit economic game and a shit DoaM game. There is no reason to ever play Eclipse.

I couldn't let this travesty of a thread continue unabated. I do it for the kids.

I guess that was the old F:AT when we used actual arguments instead of just calling something shit.

If you really care, I wrote like 4k words (I don't recall if I ever put it all into a real review or just wrote a lot on a few threads) on why Eclipse is a shitty game in great depth and with much detail, but that was when it first came out and it was worth talking about!
