Let's Talk Xbox 360

I was in a local shop today sizing up 360 prices and I ended up picking up Crimson Skies for $1, complete and in great shape. This is one of the maybe half dozen Xbox games I'm interested in that the 360 supports.

It's really good. I'm shocked that there's only maybe 6 360 games you'd like.

nono there's only six Xbox games that he would want to replay on his 360, that's what he's saying.

For me, there was only Pirates! I think that I would play on the 360

Yeah, OG Xbox games. I want to play the kotor games, Panzer Dragoon, Shenmue 2, Pure Pinball (I collect pinball video games), the WWE Raw games (again, collect wrestling games), and Mechassault 2.

oh right, you should obviously consider getting Pinball FX's arcade game(s) on the 360 since there is a FAT contingent cult following in those leaderboards.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is really fun, and the Baldurs Gate games are fucking wicked great.

Oh, how I loved Crimson Skies. I haven't played it in a long time, so I'd be interested to hear how it holds up. That game was one of the reasons I bought the O.G. Xbox. The only 360 experience that approaches it is Snoopy's Flying Ace, which is actually pretty great.

Crimson Skies is such a cool universe. It's a little cornball in concept, but really fun, and it's unfortunate that the franchise has set dormant for ten years. I don't know who has the rights to it - Weisman or Wizkids or what, but clearly the best way to resurrect the franchise is with a Chvatil everything-and-the-kitchen sink adventure game a la Mage Knight.

License the Wings of War system and bolt it onto a board metagame?

This came in the mail today, I got it hooked up and this is pretty cool. There's a lot of game you can just demo, which is great for just checking out random things, I played a few games on my wishlist and none of them got taken off, I tooled around with Crimson Skies and it's really fun, way more arcadey than I expected. Project Gotham 3 is too much of a sim for me. I have a live free account, what's the benefit of getting a gold account?
